RDM PortraitRobert D. Mitchell is an attorney who focuses his legal practice on complex commercial and financial litigation, particularly in the areas of securities and investments, and commercial real estate disputes.   His cases generally involve litigation, arbitration and mediation of legal matters involving business and contractual disputes, investment and financial frauds, securities regulatory proceedings, commercial real estate and development, construction law, corporate and LLC issues, and other commercial and financial matters.  Mr. Mitchell represents clients in Arizona, California, Texas and Utah, and when admitted pro hac vice has handled commercial litigation matters in numerous states across the United States.

Mr. Mitchell is also experienced in the evaluation, litigation (including class action litigation) and arbitration of securities, investment and commercial real estate cases. His investment cases have included litigation and arbitration of disputes involving stocks, bonds, options, commodities, limited partnerships, ERISA accounts, investment contracts and other securities. Mr. Mitchell has represented investors in litigation and arbitration cases against numerous brokerage firms, issuers, attorneys, and others. He also represents brokerage firms and stockbrokers in investment cases.  Mr. Mitchell also serves as local counsel for out-of-state law firms and parties involved in large class action and complex litigation cases.

Mr. Mitchell also represents individuals and companies in commercial real estate investment, development and business transaction disputes and other litigation matters. His clients include commercial real estate firms and developers in Arizona, California, and Utah.  Mr. Mitchell is experienced in all facets of litigation involving commercial real estate transactions, subdivisions, contracts, purchase and lease disputes, real estate brokerage commission disputes, and other commercial real estate matters. 

As a graduate of the Arizona State University Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law, Mr. Mitchell’s curriculum emphasis was in the areas of securities, corporation and business law, and included graduate business courses in the areas of finance and accounting.  Prior to obtaining his Juris Doctor degree, he earned his bachelor of science degree from Arizona State University in accounting.

Mr. Mitchell is also a graduate of the Arizona College of Trial Advocacy.

From 1985 until 1989 Mr. Mitchell was employed by a San Francisco based firm where his practice was in the areas of securities, corporation, real estate and business law, and commercial litigation. In 1993, Mr. Mitchell formed his present law firm.

Mr. Mitchell is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the State of Arizona, Supreme Court of the State of California, Supreme Court of the State of Texas, Supreme Court of the State of Utah, United States District Court for the District of Arizona, United States District Court for the Southern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is a member of the State Bar of Arizona, State Bar of California, State Bar of Texas, State Bar of Utah, and the American Bar Association.

Both Mr. Mitchell and his law firm have been given an "AV-rating", the highest peer-based rating an attorney and law firm can receive according to the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, a national directory covering 900,000 attorneys world-wide, published for more than a century. The Martindale-Hubbell attorney ratings are based upon confidential surveys of, and recommendations by, other attorneys and judges in the legal community. Mr. Mitchell's AV-rating reflects, according to Martindale-Hubbell, that Mr. Mitchell has been judged by his peers to have a "preeminent" legal ability and the highest ethical standing.

Mr. Mitchell and his firm are also listed in the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers.

Mr. Mitchell has served as Chairman of the Securities Litigation and Arbitration Association, an organization of Arizona attorneys who represent parties in securities and investment disputes. The Securities Litigation and Arbitration Association is involved in keeping its members abreast of the latest developments in the ever changing area of securities regulation and in the monitoring of investment related legislation. He is a former  member of the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association (PIABA), a national organization of securities arbitration attorneys, and former Chairman of the Investors Division of the Securities Regulation Section of the State Bar of Arizona.

Mr. Mitchell serves as an arbitrator in securities and commercial disputes. He has been a member of the panel of arbitrators of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and the National Association of Securities Dealers now known as FINRA.  He has previously served as an arbitrator in cases for the Better Business Bureau and the American Arbitration Association. 

Mr. Mitchell has been a regular public speaker on legal related topics, including Effective Trial Opening Statements and Closing Arguments, Real Estate Litigation, Arbitration of Investment Disputes, Investment Analysts and Securities Litigation Legislation, the Securities Reform Act, Mechanic's Liens in Real Estate Transactions, and Alternative Dispute Resolution, among other subjects.  He has been invited to speak before several securities industry training seminars on arbitrations and mediations.  In addition, he has made a number of presentations to attorneys, broker-dealer firms, and other professional groups on securities law and regulatory compliance matters, and arbitration and mediation of securities arbitration disputes.

Mr. Mitchell has been involved in a number of civic activities.  Mr. Mitchell has also served in the past as a member of the Board of Directors of the Arizona State University Alumni Association (1994-98), and was one of four co-chairmen of its Old Main Restoration Committee.  He received the distinction of Outstanding Board Member for 1997-98.  He is a past Chairman of the ASU Founder's Day Committee and the Awards Committee. He is a past President and a former Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament Chairman of the Arizona State University College of Business Alumni Association, a former member of the ASU Dean's Board of Excellence, and a past member of the Board of Directors of the Arizona State University College of Law Alumni Association.   Mr. Mitchell has also qualified for and been admitted to Mensa, a non-profit society recognizing intellectual ability and achievement.   Mr. Mitchell is listed in the 2008-2009 edition of Marquis Who's Who in American Law.  Mr. Mitchell has been married to his wife, Lisa, for 25 years.

Julie M. Beauregard practices in the areas of commercial and financial litigation, intellectual property law, transaction law, general business and commercial matters.


Ms. Beauregard is a 2004 graduate of the Arizona State University, Sandra Day O'Connor School of Law, where she received a Juris Doctor and Certificate in Law, Science and Technology: Intellectual Property Law.  She was a Law Science and Technology Center Scholar during 2003-2004.  Ms. Beauregard was also an Associate Editor and Senior Editor of the Jurimetrics Law Science and Technology Journal, 2002-2004.  While attending law school, Ms. Beauregard also served as treasurer of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, and was a member of the Corporate and Business Law Student Society.  She authored "Trespassing In Cyberspace: Intel Corp. v. Hamidi," published in Jurimetrics, Section of Science & Technology Law American Bar Association, Summer, 2003.  While in law school, Ms. Beauregard also did an externship with Judge Randolph J. Haines of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Arizona.

 

Before attending law school, Ms. Beauregard, received her B.S in Business Management from Arizona State University (1994) with a minor in Spanish.  She also received a M.B.A. in International Management in 1996 from the Thunderbird, American Graduate School of International Management widely recognized as one of the leading graduate business schools in the United States and ranked as the best international business school by the Wall Street Journal in 2006.  Ms. Beauregard's business experiences before law school include working in the technology field, primarily with Intel Corporation, and with several other technology based companies in Arizona, California and Mexico.

Sarah Deutsch Photo

Sarah K. Deutsch practices in the areas of general business law and commercial litigation. 

 Ms. Deutsch is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School, cum laude, and Order of the Coif, where she earned a Juris Doctor in 2008 along with a Dean's Academic Achievement Award.  She was also a recipient of the Rath Foundation-Frank J. Pelisek Law Scholarship in 2008.  During law school, Ms. Deutsch was a Member and Articles Editor of the Wisconsin Law Review and received the Joseph Davies Award for outstanding service to the Wisconsin Law Review by a second-year student in 2007.  During her third year of law school, Ms. Deutsch was a judicial intern to the Honorable Chief Judge Barbara B. Crabb of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin.

 Prior to attending law school, Ms. Deutsch graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University and the Barrett Honors College with a Bachelor of Science in Justice Studies.  As an undergraduate, Ms. Deutsch co-authored two articles on the popular television series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and its affects on society.

Ms. Deutsch is admitted to practice in the States of Arizona and Wisconsin, and is admitted to the United States District Court for the District of Arizona.
